In late September the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office ordered 7 Schiele paintings to be seized from both private and public (including the Carnegie and Oberlin Museums of Art) collections and repatriated to the heirs of Fritz Grünbaum, an Austrian-Jewish cabaret artist who was killed during the Holocaust.
